Baker College of Port Huron issued the following announcement on Oct. 4
The Baker College of Auburn Hills School of Nursing would like to congratulate BC senior and nursing student Jaclyn Boucher as the 2019 recipient of the Dianne Addington Leadership Scholarship, provided by Genisys Credit Union in Auburn Hills. The scholarship provides funding to Baker College students who serve their communities as leaders and volunteers while working towards their college degrees.
Jaclyn is from Waterford and is a senior enrolled in the Bachelors of Science in Nursing Program. She is scheduled to graduate in the spring 2020. Jaclyn gives of her time by volunteering at Oakland County's only BMX track at Waterford Oaks. As a volunteer, Jaclyn provides basic first aid as a licensed EMT and is CPR certified. She has worked alongside Oakland county executives to re-write the track's contract with the County so this dynamic environment for kids remains open and safe. In addition, her twelve-year-old son has become a member of the United States Air Force (USAF) Auxillary Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Program at the Oakland County International Airport and she has future plans to become a volunteer parent during the upcoming Civil Air Patrol events.
This Scholarship will help complete her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse by paying for her final semester's tuition. Her future plans are to pursue her nursing career in the Emergency Room Department and continue with her outstanding volunteerism as well as her community outreach efforts.
