Bringing together entrepreneurs, builders & investors to match them with business & housing opportunities, training, and funding options
Are you looking for a new location to start a business? Are you a builder looking for hot real estate markets with a proven need for new housing? Are you interested in meeting the people in both private and public sectors who can help you accomplish your goals? Then the Opportunity Match Symposium in Marlette is for you!
During a year of Project Rising Tide, the city of Marlette has uncovered a number of things our residents want and need. As you know, solving wants and needs are the key to success in business. We've already done the hard work of market research, housing studies, shopping & dining surveys, and community visioning to uncover profitable opportunities for your business to expand into new markets. We have also built strong connections with the local, state and federal agencies & businesses who offer both financial assistance and business development programs to help you achieve your goals.
Additionally, we have a database of available properties, both vacant land and existing commercial buildings, where your new business or housing development could be located.
This event is open to all builders, investors, building owners, existing or new businesses, and entrepreneurs who would like to connect with the people who can help your business succeed! Its free to attend, but we do require pre-registration.
From 10:30-12:30, we will be focusing on housing & construction opportunities in Marlette, and will have brief presentations from the USDA, MSHDA, MDARD, MEDC and others explaining the services available. You will then be able to meet with these individuals to learn more about their offerings in one-on-one conversations.
From 12:30-2:30, the focus is on business development, including restaurants, retail, services, and presenters will include the SBDC, SBA, USDA, MEDC, Michigan Works Business Services, and MDARD. Again, you can meet one-on-one with the providers to learn how to access services and financing programs.
You can also meet with local realtors, lenders, the Marlette DDA, City Manager, Sanilac County EDC, and others who can answer your questions.
