The Huron Daily Tribune is calling on residents who know of a hero who has been instrumental in their community in helping to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, or who has helped members of the community battling the pandemic, to submit their personal stories.
“Even as we face uncertainty and a new reality, many of our friends, family and neighbors are rising to the occasion, making our communities a better place to live even in crisis,” the newspaper noted on its website. “Inspiring stories of hope and helping in the face of the unknown are popping up on our screens, right from our neighborhoods. We want to share those stories.”
Stories about pandemic heroes deemed worthy will be published in the paper’s print edition and on its website as well.
“Tell us about acts of kindness, heroism, bravery, innovation or inspiration in the Thumb area, and we will choose which to feature in print and on MichigansThumb.com,” the publication said. “Do you have a high-resolution jpeg photograph to share to go along with this story? Please send it by email to eric.young@hearstnp.com or call 989-513- 2740."
People submitting a nomination are asked to describe the hero’s acts of kindness, heroism, bravery, innovation or inspiration, and to include the person’s contact information, email or phone number, if available.
