The students in Ms. Newman's medical detective classes

Dna science

Anchor Bay School District issued the following announcement on Nov 12.

The students in Ms. Newman's medical detective classes have been working on a microbiology unit. The students plated bacteria onto a petri dish. They also set antibiotic discs in the petri dishes to see how effective the different antibiotics would be at stopping the bacteria from growing.

The activity was related to a case study from class in which the students were trying to diagnose a patient with pneumonia and needed to determine the most effective antibiotics for fighting the disease.
