State Representative Joseph G. Pavlov recently participated in a ceremony at the Michigan Capitol to honor first responders and commemorate the anniversary of September 11, 2001. The annual event, organized by the Michigan House of Representatives, invites legislators to bring local first responders to Lansing. During the ceremony, representatives read aloud the names of first responders from their districts who lost their lives in the line of duty over the past year.
This year, Rep. Pavlov was joined by Kenneth A. Cummings, President and CEO of Tri-Hospital EMS based in Port Huron. Tri-Hospital EMS has operated for more than four decades and is recognized as the largest emergency medical service provider in its region.
“Tri-Hospital EMS are the people we call when lives are on the line and every second counts,” said Pavlov. “Our first responders rush into danger so the rest of us can rest easy, and I’m glad we had the opportunity to honor that commitment and that bravery. This annual ceremony is a good reminder of the courage and dedication of Michigan’s first responders and of our responsibility to never forget.”
The event serves as an occasion for lawmakers and community members to reflect on both recent sacrifices made by emergency personnel and those who responded during national tragedies such as September 11.
