Reese Public Schools Education: 752 students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 752 students enrolled in Reese Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.8% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.3% of them were boys, and 46.7% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 85.5% of the Reese Public Schools total enrollment.

Reese Public Schools covers three schools within Tuscola County with its main office in Reese. Among them, Reese Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 342 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
