City of Richmond issued the following announcement on July 9.
The Richmond Police Officers Association (RPOA) is hosting a Pig Roast on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Beebe Street Park, 12pm - 4pm. Richmond Police Officers will be working the event, including serving food to all attendees. The planned menu will be pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, hot dogs and chips. This event is a community outreach event and is open to the public. Great way to get to know our officers and the newer hires. Tickets for the pig roast will be sold at the door. To let the RPOA know that you plan to attend, you can visit their Facebook page by searching Richmond Police Officers Association, MI and RSVP to the event.
In addition to the pig roast, there will also be a dunk tank, face painting, 50/50 raffle and a Golf Cart Rodeo. All registered golf cart owners in the City of Richmond should have received a registration form to participate. Registration forms are due by July 16th. Two events will take place, a timed event and a non-timed event; cash prizes will be awarded to the winner of each event.
The RPOA is also hosting a bake sale during their Pig Roast event. They are calling on all bakers to please consider donating some baked goods to their sale. Anyone interested in donating, please contact Dana Maclean at dmaclean@richmondpolice.net. All donated items must be received by July 31st.
The drawing for the 2021 EZ-GO Valor Golf Cart Raffle will also take place at the Pig Roast. Tickets for the golf cart raffle are still available. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase at the Richmond Police Department. You may also contact either Dana Maclean or Julia Frantz @ 586-727-4000 to make other arrangements. The Golf Cart being raffled off is courtesy of Motor City Karts in Mt. Clemens.
