City of Algonac recently issued the following announcement.
Algonac 2021 Teacher of the Year Mary Gillis was recognized at the City Council meeting and presented with an Algonac Asset Award by Councilman Rocky Gillis last night. Mary is part of a team developing Core Vocabulary Boards for neurodiverse Algonac students. These boards help neurodiverse children to communicate and interact with friends and family. One goal of her team is to raise money to install these boards at public parks in Algonac, Clay and Ira.
