In 2019, St. Clair County developed a County Trails Master Plan, identifying gaps within the countywide Bridge to Bay Trail system. Marine City connections were reported as significant gaps and the City has been actively working with the County, various trails committees and regional stakeholders to bridge the incomplete sections through the use of conventional bike lanes, side paths and shared lanes. Recently, with the City Commission approval, the City submitted an MDOT TAP grant application to help fund the bike path improvements.
