State Representative Jaime Greene, a Republican from Richmond, has been recognized by the County Road Association of Michigan with the Distinguished Service Highway Industry Award. The award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to improving local road systems.
Greene expressed her appreciation for the honor, stating, "Quality policy work requires coordination between lawmakers and the industry experts that best know the needs of the groups they represent." She added that she sees this recognition as not only a testament to her legislative efforts but also to her collaboration with policy advocates and leaders at the County Road Association. "I’m very grateful to have been picked for this special honor," she said.
The County Road Association of Michigan consists of 83 members dedicated to advocating for safe and efficient county transportation infrastructure. With Michigan having one of the largest local road systems in the country, their political advocacy plays a crucial role in Lansing's policy landscape. The state's county road agencies manage approximately 75% of all roads in Michigan.
The association praised Rep. Greene for “using her knowledge, time and passion to help advance Michigan’s county road and bridge system.”
